How is this made?

To make my mountain charcuterie boards, I follow a process sometimes referred to as “woven wood.”

First, I use double-sided woodworker’s tape to attach two wood pieces together, one on top of the other. Let’s call them Board A and Board B. Next, I use a bandsaw to cut a sine wave-like pattern through both boards at once. Since the boards were cut together, the cut profiles are exactly the same. This allows me to swap one piece of Board A with the corresponding piece from Board B, creating a two-toned mountain pattern when glued up. I repeat those steps until I’m satisfied with the pattern—typically 2 - 4 times.

Once the pattern is complete, I plane and sand the piece to create a smooth surface and rout the edges to round them over. I finish my charcuterie boards with a food-safe mixture of oils and waxes, so the artwork for sale in this listing is suitable for use both as a display piece and a food surface.

All items in my shop are 100% handmade in Denver, CO. All pyrography is done by hand with an electric wood burning tool.
